Thank you for visiting my website.
I’m Linda Gibson, sole proprietor of a small pavillion situated in a wild and marshy place forever in the wind. Subjected of late to the fury of vast firestorms
against which there are few defenses.
And so we keep our eyes fixed on the Great White Egret, also native to this place.
You may stroll the small pavillion at your leisure. Here you will find a generous stock of merchandise on display in any weather. We are currently featuring,
in infinite supply, the novel Sortilege (a gothic hybrid),
and the short detective fiction Mrs. Lawton.
A novel bouncing between the Present and the Past. In which “sortilege” is defined as the fateful kind of sorcery often confused with romantic love.
The present-day tale (circa 1995) concerns a trio of women: thirty-something Emily, divorced, rootless, alone, and just arrived back in her hometown; beautiful Anna, who suddenly finds herself falling under the spell of sortilege for real, and Robin, busy with her artsy endeavors, who obsesses over a tale out of the past. A strange tale about a dashing aristocrat who sets out to rescue a lovely maiden, the telling of which also happens to take up a good part of this novel.
The stories together form something of a hybrid: two separate fictional tales that intersect, one a modern story of romantic entanglements, the other a shadowy gothic adventure.
A man falls from the sky, and Mrs. Lawton’s client is the only witness. So begins a chain of events that will involve the private eye in a world of increasing danger, as the dark secret of her past casts its long shadow over her life once again.
Being sole proprietor of the small pavillion really leaves me little time for writing e-books or making illustrations for the covers, yet I plan to expand my catalogue over time. Meanwhile, please examine our current offerings, leave your e-mail if you wish, and remember to visit often.
A complimentary invention called The Little Woman is here included for your amusement. It may be used as a gentle reminder of feminine self-sufficiency, or as a bookmark for your Kindle.
This autonomous Little Woman is equipped to handle all repairs to her exceptional person. She has the tools she needs for healing minor hurts, for making big adjustments, and even skill enough, when needed, to fine-tune the power cell within her vital core.
Keep well --
Linda
